River Birchall Foundation

Mission

The River Birchall Foundation is a women-led nonprofit bringing love, connection, and positive opportunities to youth and young adults in Santa Cruz County and beyond. Through nonprofit partnerships, we provide scholarships for young people to attend skate camp at Sequoia Lake outside of Sequoia National Forest and participate in martial arts through jiu-jitsu. Our junior board develops youth leadership through participation in foundation events, community service, and meaningful responsibilities. We also collaborate with local artists and musicians to feature and support their work at our events. Through these experiences, we help young people build confidence, explore their passions, and connect with their community.

Vision

We envision an inclusive, compassionate community where all young people have access to positive outlets, meaningful connections, and opportunities to lead. Through skateboarding, martial arts, creative collaborations, and our junior board, we seek to reduce barriers and nurture confidence, resilience, and well-being. As a women-led organization, we welcome diverse voices and encourage the next generation to discover their strengths, pursue their passions, and make a positive impact in their communities.
